2011 FIA GT1 World Championship

Season Summary

Following an exciting inaugural season, the FIA GT1 World Championship enters its second season for 2011 with the opener at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, UAE on March 26th. Races in the Dutch Zolder (April 9th - 10th), at the Algarve Racetrack in Portugal (May 7th - 8th) and the Sachsenring in Germany follow (May 14th - 15th). The fifth round of the season will be the held on a refurbished Silverstone Circuit on June 5th and 6th, 2011, with Navarra in Spain (July 2nd - 3rd), Paul Ricard in France (July 16th - 17th), Ordos (September 3rd - 4th) and Bejing (September 11th) in China and San Luis in Argentina (November 5th - 6th) completing the 2011 season's schedule.

As in 2010, Nissan will be competing with two teams. In contrast to the previous season, all four cars will be prepared by the Sumo Power GT team, while the Swiss Racing team has changed to Lamborghini. Since one team is allowed to field only two cars, however, the No.22 and No.23 cars will be maintained by a sister team of Sumo Power GT, JR Motorsports.

Look for a summary at this place once the whole season is over. Until then, we will keep you up-to-date with reports of each race (see menu "race reports" or follow the - site tour - below) and comprehensive picture galleries, as well as results of the races.
